Cashbuilder Bonus

Q1.  Is this the first time that TATIL has done this?

A1.  This is the first time and it represents a new philosophy in the interest of providing increased value to our clients.  Future bonuses will be declared subject to investment performance.

Q2. What is the BONUS exactly?

A2.  Tatil Life Assurance Ltd (TATIL) undertakes to credit investment interest to certain assurance and deferred annuity plans under the Cashbuilder suite of policies, and this interest is declared and credited annually.  This BONUS declaration represents an enhancement to the originally declared interest rate credited for the year 2004.

Q3. To whom does the BONUS apply?

A3. The BONUS will apply to all policyholders with Cashbuilder Assurance, Annuity (both Approved and Unregistered) Plans and Gold Spoon policies.  It only relates to polices that are in force as at end of 2004 and therefore terminated and lapsed polices will not qualify.  If in doubt contact your agent, send us email or call any of our locations and one of our representatives will be happy to assist.

Q4. Are there any conditions for the BONUS?

A4. Yes.  Only that your policy is maintained in force throughout the period 01, January 2005 to 31, December 2006.  Policies that are lapsed or surrendered prior to 31, December 2006 will not qualify for the BONUS crediting on 01, January 2007.

Q5. How is the BONUS amount calculated?

A5. If your policy was in force and had a cash value at 31, December 2004 then the BONUS amount is simply the applicable percentage of the policy accumulation on that date.  The BONUS rate applicable to registered annuities is 6% and the rate applicable to assurances and unregistered annuities is 5% of the policy accumulation at 31, December 2004.  This amount is in addition to the interest already credited to your policy in 2004.

Q6. What happens to the BONUS amount prior to 01, January 2007 crediting date?

A6. The BONUS amount will attract interest, effectively being compounded over the period 01, January 2005 to 31, December 2006.

Q7. When will the BONUS amount be credited to my policy's fund value?

A7. The BONUS amount plus interest will be reflected on your policy fund value on 01, January 2007, conditional on the policy having been maintained in force.

Q8.  If I surrender or cancel my policy will the cash surrender value include the bonus?

A8.  A policyholder who surrenders or terminates a policy prior to 31, December 2006 will forfeit the BONUS proceeds.  Your policy is essentially a long-term contract in nature and works better for you the longer it is kept in force.  The BONUS is a reward for the loyalty of our policyholders and it is an incentive for you to keep paying premiums regularly to keep your policy in force.

Q9.  How can I find out how much my Bonus balance is?

A9.  You can contact your agent or you can contact any of our Client Services Representatives at TATIL's Head Office or at any of our Branch Offices located around the country.  Enquiries or requests for balances can also be made by email via TATIL's website at www.tatil.co.tt
