What Is Loss of Use and Why Do I Want It?

Imagine this… Your car is in the garage after an accident – your insurance is covering the repairs – but you still have to get to work, run errands, and pick up your kids from school. How do you get around while waiting for your vehicle?

With help from your insurance, that’s how.

You can be reimbursed for renting vehicles, taking taxis, using rideshare services, and even for gas money provided to a family member or friend who gives you a ride. However you choose to get around, we can cover the costs – so keep all of your receipts! You’ll need to present those receipts to be reimbursed.

Having a means of transport is crucial in T&T. Adding Loss of Use to your policy can provide an invaluable sense of security and peace of mind.

How to add Loss of Use to your TATIL Motor Insurance Policy

Adding Loss of Use is as easy as letting us know! If you’re taking out a new TATIL Policy:

  • When signing up, simply let your agent or TATIL representative know you’d like to include the optional Loss of Use benefit. You can start with a quote right now!

And, if you’re an existing TATIL customer:

  • Just contact your agent or TATIL rep to learn if the benefit can be added to your policy. Then, once it’s time to renew, Loss of Use will be added for a small additional fee.

This small addition to your premium can make a big difference to your quality of life and mobility – giving you peace of mind when your vehicle is out of commission. So, if this seems like you might need it – don’t wait – contact your agent or email us at [email protected] today!
